1982-83

In 1982 the trusty Giacomelli was paired with De Cesaris. The young Roman driver thrilled enthusiasts by claiming a surprise pole position in practice for the American Grand Prix at Long Beach. A result not repeated in the race, unfortunately: De Cesaris and Giacomelli finished the championship with five and two points respectively. Meanwhile the "Scuderia del Portello" produced a historic set of racing cars. The next year, Formula 1 management was given to Euroracing, which was successful in Formula 3 with Alfa engines: De Cesaris earned 15 points and the team finished 6th in the constructors championship.
